Hey guys, i am a noob and just did a soft mod on my box. i just downloaded and installed XBMC and the original dash, now i got a error 21 when it tries to boot, how can i get it to boot back and what can i do to fix it, please help!

how could i softmod it if i cant cold boot with splinter cell?
i know ... noob questions, but this is my first time messing around with xbox's
the first problem i had was an issue with the MS dash, my version is 5680, i think, or something like that.
Will i have to do a hotswap in order to reinstall the softmod?

Are you sure you can't boot Splinter Cell? I couldin't boot mine sometimes but after I tried a few times it would go. If you cannot boot it, I think you will have to hotswap, but I am not expert at all this.

im gonna mess with it some more today after class since i wont be working.
I was thinking i would have to do a hotswap now. I will mess around with it more today. I was thinking if i left it powered down with the HDD unplugged it would rest something and might make splinter cell boot. Thanks you guys for your help!

Did you back up your eeprom? If you did you don't need to hotswap. You would use the eeprom file to create a rescue disk with xboxhdm, power off, connect the HDD to IDE 1 when jumpered as master, and use the linux locking tools(option 3) to unlock the drive(unlock -a). Then you reboot, restore your dash, and relock.
If you didn't backup your eeprom, then yeah, you'll have to hotswap. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide
