I chose to install dual boot (tray out = ms dash, in = evox[soon to be replaced with xbmc]) but when I boot with the tray out I get the network setup/troubleshooting thing.
I really don't care about XboxLive at all, so getting rid of this wouldn't kill me. And I most definitely want my MS dash along with whatever else I might have.
What I did:
1) Set up SID (backing up MS dash and EEPROM)
2) Turned off Xbox (splinter cell was still in the tray)
3) Pressed eject button to boot to ms dash. (boots to net setup)
4) Took out SC and close tray, then rebooted to EvoX.
5) Uninstalled SID (after trying again) and repeated same process as above.
So, maybe I did something with the disc, I don't know.
Can anybody help?

U might not have the updated MSdash or maybe you didnt do single boot. Try that if you don't really care about Xbox Live. _________________ Moddingbandit

1) My dash is 5960 (updated).
2) I did nknaves ndure dual boot. I don't want single boot.
3) I don't care about Live.

try unplugging your ethernet out when rebooting. Then go into the M$ Dash settings and make live enable set to disabled. That way it won't try to connect to live at all. _________________ Moddingbandit

Hmm. I don't even have an ethernet cable plugged in.
And what options are you talking about that deal with Live? There's an Auto Sign In option (which I just disabled), but other than that I don't see anything that would "disable" Live.

Yes Auto sign in. Same thing dude. Anyways, it doesnt disable live, it just disables you from AUTO SIGNING.
Try doing the In game reset option when ms dash boots up and the light is red. Go to ur modded dash and change the msdash settings all to no. Like Boot if no link=no. _________________ Moddingbandit

lol oops sorry, I thought I wrote it. Wow, I am tired... anyways it is when you press and hold the 2 trigger buttons and the start and select button all at the same time and it'll reboot no matter if ur in a game or in Msdash. As long as the mod is on, it will work. _________________ Moddingbandit

Okay, so I did some exploring (I didn't find anything having to do with booting from anything (except games, DVDs and audio, in the evox settings)) and I had to turn on in game reset, :/ and I can get to my ms dashboard from evox if i click on ms dashboard. To do that I had to change c:\msdash.xbe in evo.ini to c:\xboxdash.xbe. Anyway, it's still not working. And the reset doesn't work if I boot up with the tray out.

When you say turned on, you mean installed, correct? I've installed SID 4.5, I guess I made that clear. *shrug*
