Post subject: Dolby Sound Question

I have softmodded my xbox awile back using evox for the dash. I never tried to re-install the ms-dash.

I originally ran the audio to my t.v. with the standard cables. I recently picked up component cables to run to my t.v. and 6.1 receiver that is Dolby and DTS capable.

It sounds like I am getting the 5.1 because I can hear different effects on the different speakers but how do I know I am getting the right thing?

I know there was a setting in the ms-dash for the dolby output but what do I do now that I don't have it fixed?

I do have the correct digital settings in the audio section in xbmc...would this be equivalent?

Halo 2 sounds good but most of sound is in 3.1 front and very little in the rear 2.0 surround. NFS Most Wanted seems equal in front and rear speakers. Black seems balanced.

Any help would be appreciated. I just want to make sure I am hearing everyhing right or am I missing the correct setting altogether.
