This may or may not be mod chip related, I just moved and maybe something got knocked loose. When I turn on my xbox, it tries to boot (light turns green) for about 2 seconds, then shuts off. It does this again. On the 3rd try, it flashes green and red. Any idea what is causing this? I have a matrix chip (no solder) installed.

it could be the power supply
check the power cord in the box

I also used to have a Matrix in my old Xbox and when moving about my xbox this used to happen. All it is, is the matrix has been knocked very slightly out of alignment and you just have to tweak back into place. This is happening becasue the matrix is overiding original BIOS as normal but because mis-aligned is rebooting 3 times then flashing red which mean BIOS error. This can happen a lot if you don't screw down hard and in correct position , however if you keep uncrewing and screwing you can damaged the hole and the screw won't fit then only bolting or soldering works. This can be quite common with matrix modchips and is one of the numerous matrix problems, the worst one being it can flash the xbox's TSOP making Xbox Live unuseable because you can't boot original BIOS. Anyway hope it all works

I had a same problem white my xbox and it was a tiny bit of metal
That had got cot in between the Memory bank solder but when
