hey everyone i have a lot of experience with ftp and my router but when im not at home and i dont have my router i was wondering if its possible to ftp the xbox without the router. like just hook the ethernet cable into the xbox and the other end into my laptop. i tried this b4 but my xbox ended up having an IP of 0.0.0.0 and you cant ftp that lol. i think my xbox is set to static IP im pretty sure. and im using flashfxp to ftp. so whats wrong? thanks \m/thor\m/

your gonna need a crossover cable to directly link your xbox to your computer.

Compared to standard Ethernet cables, the internal wiring of Ethernet crossover cables reverses the transmit and receive signals. The reversed color-coded wires can be seen through the RJ-45 connectors at each end of the cable:

* Standard cables have an idential sequence of colored wires on each end
* Crossover cables have the 1st and 3rd wires (counting from left to right) crossed, and the 2nd and 6th wires crossed

An Ethernet crossover cable will also feature the name "crossover" stamped on its packaging and wire casing.
