New here,
I am trying to upgrade my xbox v 1.0 with a larger hdd 300 gigs.
This is an upgrade from a 200 gig that was done before.
Xenuim ice with 2.3.1 and using evox with a 67 bin.
I have been using boxplorer to rip to my hdd. no problems game run off it fine except Hulk, I saw that there is a patch to fix the error must run from disk.
I have wanted to use the g on the 200 but could not figuire out how to patch it. I tried to use an xbe patch program but did not have much info on how to get it to work.

anyway when I used the xodus os to upgrade from 200 to 300 it worked for 2 days to transfer 100 gig from f to f on the destination drive.
Now some of the games will not load or run. I started over and formatted the drive but did not transfer the F . I ftp'ed the files to my pc using c-xbox and then back this time I put Halo 2 on g just to see if it would work, but it froze.
I would still like to patch boxplorer but do not know how or with what program. or should I be using something else?
I backed up the 100 gigs on my pc and could just leave it on the 200 gig and use a dvd ripper that show g or complete the upgrade and try and figure out what I am doing wrong, I would also like to burn the games to dvd just for backup to free up the 100 gigs on my pc. any help would be welcome

UPDATE I got the g patch to work using PPF omatic.
The times before I could not get it to work.
Anyway, choose the default.xbe file in the boxplorer\xbox files folder to patch. then choose the boxplorer-g.ppf file and it should save as the default.xbe file. then ftp it to the xbox\folder that it runs from, and you should now see the g partion 7 in select drives screen.
Hope this helps someone.

I had the same problem with my games freezing also when I went from a 120 to 300.....easiest way for me to fix the problem was to simply re copy the games. I know you don't want to hear that but thats what stopped everything from freezing. That was just using the hdd upgrade wizard though...I didn't ftp to computer so I am not sure if that will work for you or not....good luck.

there is a way to transfer files quickly through FTP...i can transfer at about 65 to 80 mbps....all u have to do is set your ftp program to transfer 1 file at a time....i found out it was faster because when it was set to default which i think was about 10 files at a time it too almost 1 hour maybe more to transfer HALO 2 to my computer i changed the transfer to 1 at a time and i was able to transfer halo 2 to my comp at about 65 mbps per file which only took about 15 mins to send halo 2 to my comp. i'm also running evox. hope this helps

I am using cxbox to ftp and it takes about 11 minutes to download 4.5 gigs.
I did that to my g and it froze at the startup.
I will clean the cache and xyz to see if it helps, I was just wondering if you need to patch the files or is there a way to verify the data?
This just seam to be more time consuming then complicated.
thanks for the help i keep ya posted

xenium os has a clear cache function, I will just use that! what is this suppose to do or effect if you know?
I assume I just mirrored the hdd during he upgrade process and during the tranfer of F to F how were the games effected?

60% of the games worked, it was not isolated to a specific part of the disk area that I am aware of ?
keep ya posted

I think its just the chips cache, and my guess about the games is that some of them didnt get completley transferred if clearing the cache dont work.

The cache was the issue as far as the games not starting or working so at this point all has been resolved!
Thank you
