Hi all.

This is my first post so take it easy on me hahaha

I recently bought an Xbox with the Softmod done to it. I have the Dashboard as well as Media Center installed on it

I burned a DVD+R this afternoon and put some MP3s on it. The Xbox sees the files and plays them just fine.

Problem I am having is saving the songs to the hard disk. Is there any way to do this using a DVD disk ???

I was able to do it last night using a CD RW but 20 songs at a time isnt really fun

If there is any way to do this please let me know or pm me

Thanks

Welcome Bossman 103,
use the xbox media center file manager, explore d drive in one window, and in the other create or select the folder you want them to be moved to, then press the white button, then copy. If you can FTP to the box, you can save time and disks by sending them that way.

Exactly Wink , if you already have XBMC, its the easiest way (from a disk).
This is how I transfer my MP3 CD's to xbox, if I don't have them on the PC for FTP Smile

Thanks for the replies

I tried what impwiz advised me to do

The only weird thing is when I explore the D drive there is a Audio and a Video folder

Nothing in either. but there is technically because I can play the Mp3s that are on that disk

Is Xbox media center supposed to have a File Manager option in it ??? cause I sure as hell dont have that in there

Any other options please let me know

Thanks

Yup, here's how I do it.

1) I put the DVD or CD that has the MP3's in the DVD-ROM drive.

2) Choose "My Files" from the main menu of XBMC. This opens up a two paned file manager.

3) In the left pane I open the folder on the xbox hard drive where I want to put the MP3's.

4) In the right pane I open up the DVD-ROM drive.

5) Oh yeah, use the directional pad to move back and forth between the left and right pane.

6) In the right hand pane scroll down to the MP3 you want to copy to the hard drive and push the clear/white button on the xbox control pad.

7) A menu will pop up with a couple of options. Like copy or select all. The copy option will copy the files you have high lighted to what ever folder you have open in the left hand pane.

Hope this helps you out. Smile
