i was wondering if anyone would be nice enuf to make a step by step guide to turning an xbox into a xbmc cus i have never don anything like this ive never owned a mod chip or anything of the sort. i would also like to know where to get the bios for the xbmc and which board and modchip i should get,also how to flash the bios.i've been doing some research and want someone to put this stuff in terms i can understand so please if anyone can help post or email me at milenko666@msn.com

Hey Christer88, Welcome to Xbox-hq. We already have all the tutorials in place for you to do what you ask!
Basically, you need to get yourself a modchip and larger HD first.
I would suggest reading up on the basic tutorials prior to getting your hardware. Decide if you want to install your own modchip, or if you just want to purchase a premod that already has all the programs and modding done for you. Granted it's the easiest way to get a modded machine, but also the most expensive.
Once your machine is modded, just become a VIP member and download DJB's autoinstaller. It already has XBMC in it and ready to install for you!
Or, you can just download the stand alone application and install it that way, totally up to you. For us to just give you a step by step tutorial from modding to installing XBMC would not help you as you need to understand the mod process and what your mod is capable or not capable of doing.
What is the main reason you want a modded machine? Why are you interested soley in making a XBMC machine? A modded Xbox has much more features than just running XBMC.
Do yourself a favor and read up everything you can on this site. Read the posts, the tutorials, and then once you have an idea of what exactly you want your machine to do, just give us some posts and we'll point you in the right direction.
You really need to know all that is involved before asking for such a task! There are too many factors involved. You also need to know what version xbox you are running before we would even be able to tell you what modchip to purchase.
