I use a old Linux box running IPCop as a router. Just the other day I noticed that XLNK Kai had a Linux version and decided to try and run it on my router. Guess what? IT WORKS!
Here's what I did:
First I used WinSCP to copy the kaid folder to my Linux router. I put it in /usr so that it's /usr/kaid...
Then I copied the file kaid.conf to /etc so that it's /etc/kaid.conf...
Then I edited the kaid.conf file adding my user name and password... You might have to CHMOD the conf file to 0777 before you can edit it.
Then I used Putty to launch kai by typing "CD /usr/kaid" then typing "kaid -d".... the -d switch tells Kai to run as a daemon, that way I dont have to start it again unless I reboot my router.
Now in XBMC put the IP of your router and you should be ready to go.
