I've got an xenium SP ICE on a version 1.6 xbox. Ive tried FTP'ing the recovery.bin to the E drive and then selecting the recovery option from the xenium menu, but the light blinks green for a couple minutes and immediently turns red. So i tried burning the .iso version onto a disc according to the guide that team Xodus gives out. And still i get the same thing. Then i read that you have to move the switch on the chip to the recovery spot. When i did this, the cd spins a couple times and then it turns red also. I've got version 2.0.1 on there now and wanted to upgrade to the 2.3.0. Does anyone know why this may be?

Are you using CD's or DVD's? If you're updating through a dvd, you don't need to go into recovery switch. Just recover from D: and you'll be straight. It took me a few tries before I got it right. _________________

My very first thought is the media. Have you been able to play backup games for example using that same media. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

How do i Flash from the D: drive. When i go to Launch Menu and go to add new item and the flash it gives me a list of (.........../) and theres nothing in any of them. is there another way to flash the chip without going into the recovery. I burned the .iso on to a dvd-r. I also went into the EEprom Menu and tried to restore from bin and then chose the D: drive but still i got that list of files (......../) and nothing works. Sorry I'm a total Newb at this.

yes. the chip is off recovery. I'm playing it in the mean time but nothing seems to work. I read that if i have a version 1.6 xbox you cant upgrade the chip.

When i get the two .iso, which one do i burn to a disc, or do i burn both. I've only tried burning the one that doesnt say restore to default. Also when the xenium screen comes up, where exactly do I go to flash. Is it under the settings and then i go to restore EEprom from .bin, or do I go to Launch menu and then chose add new item from flash?

Actually you need to select recovery from the Xenium OS menu. I found this link that should help you.
ok. It just gives me a list of (......../) I dont think im burning it wrong. I've used both Nero and DVD decrypter. Do i have to burn both files or just one of them.
