Just wanted to know if anyone knew what I was doing wrong. I have a bunch of N64 ROMS and Surreal64 installed on my xbox but I can't get the Roms to load. Same thing for the sega genesis Roms. The Gameboy was easy as it has a Roms folder that I put the roms in and they load right up. I tried the same thing (creating a rom folder for surreal) but it still doesn't work. Is it something really stupid I'm missing?

It has to be something simple you're missing. First, are you putting the roms into the correct folder. That is the first thing I would look at. Second, there may be some type of config file that is looking in the wrong direction. But, before I go chasing ghosts, I'd make sure the file extensions on the games are correct. My Sureal64 games all have the .usa afterward, which most people thought was wierd. Plus, they cannot be zipped. Unlike Mame roms, where you just load the rom in it's zipped format, N64 roms cannot be zipped.
At least here are a few things to look over, but I am sure others will add to the mix.
Hang in there and good luck! Keep us posted. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

yup, i agree.. Hang in there.. It is just something so small..
Can you ftp into your XBOX and copy and paste a copy of your .ini or .xml files for us..?
I would check that the .ini/.xml is pointing to the right ROMS directory.. It may be pointing to another name.
Also, like realmccloy mentions with SURREAL the N64 roms must be unzipped... I have used another N64 emulator that does support ZIPPED ROMS but it is no where near as good as surreal..
Thanks guys. It was a combination of a couple things. Some of the files I was using did not end in with .usa....and i needed to edit the .ini to point to the correct directory. It's all up and running and it is nice.
Oh and about the .usa extension; I have a few files that end in " (U) (V1.0) [!].v64" and won't load. Is it okay to just rename them to .usa?

Glad it worked out for you. You can try to rename the files, but no guarantee it will load. I have had the same problem with N64 roms too, so don't feel alone!
Thanks for the Mame Link..
I am a mame freak....it's my favorite emulator. I grew up in the "gold rush" of coin op video games and love that I can have the real deal on my xbox. I was going to invest into some coin op arcade machines for my home and now I don't have to.

Is the Emulator on your xbox HD and the roms are on the dataCD or is everything on the dataCD.
There may be a way to play it off the CD if it's a recognizable format. Otherwise you will have to FTP from your PC CD/DVD rom drive to your Xbox in order to put the application on the xbox HD.
I have a NES emulator and roms on one DVD R disk. All I do is launch the disk and play. But, it was set up to play off of it. I am guessing the DataCD is just all the files that need to be FTP'd over to your xbox HD. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
