Why? See my previsou post related to poweron problems.

Flashing TSOP with LPC mod chip in place. I have googled and read numerous posts on the topic. I have tried the "hold A15 at ground for XX seconds, hold D0 at ground ..., yada, yada, yada". That does not work for me. Is there any way to flash the TSOP with the clevermod in place? I am trying to turn my xbox into a dedicated Linux system running a MythTV frontend. I want to burn Cromwell in the TSOP and be done with it.

When the PCI serial bus is active (the LPC) then the parellel bus for the tsop is not reachable. One solution is copy a hack game save over and run an exploit without the Sunday chip in and proceed like a normal tsop flash. Take a google search on gamesave exploits and you should find something.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately my xbox is beyond the point where a gamesave exploit is an option for two reasons. I have converted the entire harddrive over to Linux and the original DVD drive was foobar which prompted me to use the clevermod in the first place! With the system up and running with Linux I have a cheapo PC DVD drive installed and it works just fine. Guess I am sol on getting the TSOP flashed.

why would you want to tsop flash anyway.. Why not just keep running your clevermod with whatever bios you like..

I have never like TSOP flashing and dont recommend it too much.. But its obvious thats what you want.. lol

anyway, hope you get it sorted..

QUICK QUESTION:

I would have thought you could boot your xbox with SUNDAY chip in it and then cut the main wire to the chip.. Wouldnt that work?? You wouldnt be using the modchip bios instead the TSOP..?? Thats how i used to muck around in the early days with my own homebrew mod (49LF020).

Any input Sunday??

l8r guys

Why flash TSOP? See me original post above which references this post, http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/postt10297.html. If you can solve that one for me then I have no need to flash the TSOP Very Happy

I have tried flashing the TSOP and have completely unplugged the clevermod board with the system running. The problem is that when I run raincoat it complains that mfg ID is 0xFF. I have used my multimeter to verify that the two TSOP write jumpers are intact. I have a Hynox TSOP and do not need the 5V connection.

The TSOP is fully intact and boots just fine (into the normal MS menu).

I enabled the write protect for the TSOP, but couldn't FLASH it. I was booting from the LPC and finally, after I fumbled through many tutorials, I found this well-hidden fact: The TSOP is disabled if you boot from the LPC. No way to get to it to FLASH it. I was modding my roommates box, but I was short an extra mod chip, therefore I desperately wanted to FLASH that TSOP! Anyway, I ended up buying a used copy of Splinter Cell, and w/ my other mod chip, copied over the Save Game exploit for that game and did a softmod. After I boot up w/ the softmod I flashed my EEPROM. Worked like a charm after I got past the LPC situation.
Your second problem is no original HD though. I used to sell them unlocked on ebay for like $15, Im sure you can grab one from there (maybe even EVOX ready Smile if you're interested.

Good luck,
scube
