I was wondering if anyone has tried preparing a new HD on a PC then installing it in the xbox as a method of softmodding? If possible, it seems like a decent method of going about it. Just swap drives and you are good to go. I'm sure that I'm probably missing something that would make this unworkable.

What you are missing is that softmod requires a locked harddrive. In order to lock a HDD you need to make a back up of the eeprom. To make a backup of the eeprom you need to be chipped or softmodded. Savvy??? _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Thanks to both Dangermouse and Pirrup. I thought as Danger says, but glad to learn the techical reasons. And Pirrup gave me a new avenue to look at discusing hotswapping. Continuing the life long learning curve

Get Splinter Cell or any Xploitable game and get the hacked save into the box
Run File Explorer
UnRAR Evox
Go to BackUp and it will create a folder with your HDD/Eeprom Info
Get a Lockable drive (LiveInfo is able to see if a HDD is lockable)
Get xboxHDM and follow instructions (Enable F drive in a larger File)
Softmod this HDD with your favorite already selected game
You'll have Extra Space for Games, media, Roms, ETC
You're done _________________ My bad english sucks!
