Hm, from what I've read on Xbox-Scene, you can do it with the softmod they use there (Krayzie's) - the question is, will it work here (say, SID 2 because SID' 3's NTPatcher makes it impossible to access Live...will this work?

SID 2 uses PBL which doesn't block live, howver MS will still pick up that it's softmodded.
The only way to avoid being detected is not to have a softmod installed at all as such. I'm working on a SID 3 Lite version which requires you to boot the xbox with the original game (007, MA, SC) in order to access the hacked bios and dashboard (also all your apps etc if you have a larger hdd). I'll probably be releasing SID 3 lite in the near future.

ok, so SID is out of the question. Now on XS they said Krayzie's apparently works; I'm still just too scared to test it lol.
I'll test it when I get my hands on my uh...friend's box that i'm modding tomorow...should be interesting.

Umm, SID is NOT out of the question, you just don't use the Nkpatcher system.
1) Use SID 3 to set up your xbox to read the AID 2 disc
2) Boot AID 2
3) Select "Softmod Section"
4) Select "Install PBL + MS Dash"
Now you shouldn't have a problem accessing live.
But seriously I don't know why you even wanna risk it when there's places like Kai and Xbox Connect.

I've got it setup and everything on my box its just that its saved under someone elses gamertag.

My C: drive is in its original state,. still got stuff on the e: dirve though including the mod and ms backup, didnt get banned last night though and Im assuming I wont because it wont detect any modified content, All the normal Stuff loads and I aint using any halo2 hackd data

A lot of times when you read on forums, the banning might not be right away. It doesn't mean you won't ever be banned. Thats up to you and going through the routine.

Cos alot of us are only inspired to buy xbox live games at the mo,
People who get banned will never buy another game.
Don`t Cheat on xbox live and there really shouldn`t be a problem.

O well, wahtever I guess...apparently cold booting will work; I'm going to give it a shot and I'm sure as hell not going to cheat - just be able to load up the Hurricane Pack and then get off of Live./
simple enough.
