Alright I'll tell ya the short version...
My Xbox HD is screwed up, I unlocked it, turned the power off, got error 06, locked it with Xboxhdm, put it back in the box and got error 07, bought a modchip like I was told and the chip can't unlock it...
Alright so I burn AID v2.02 to a DVD-R, it reads on every xbox I try it on, it even works on the DVD tray that's in my Xbox (I switched the tray out with another xbox and it worked in that one).
My problem is AID won't boot up on my Xbox. I installed the hacked BIOS on my chip (which is a Xenium S.P.Ice with Xecuter2 4983.06 BIOS on it). I pop the CD in, boot the Xbox, select the hacked BIOS, and the error screen still pops up... just like it does with the retail BIOS... how am I suppost to get the AID DVD to work so I can fix my HD?

EDIT: I just tried using the EvoX M8 BIOS and instead of instantly fragging and going to error 06/07 (HD problems) it sits there at the loading screen for like 40 seconds and then finally says error 16... I'm getting nowhere help is much appreciated... _________________ Xbox V1.1

Hey maconi , this happened to me a couple of times. do this.When having this problem, slayers2.6 always works when aid 2.0 just wont boot, use slayers to fix this then use aid 2.0 to format & all that shit.....................peace

Does Slayers 2.6 have ConfigMagic on it? (thats the program that orginally screwed up my HD I was hoping it could staighten it back out)... I'm guessing it has some sort of HD locking/unlocking utility tho, would be nice to find the download, all I can find is 2.5.
And is this the only way I can go? Is there no way to get AID to work?

Hi,
When you locked the hdd again you SHOULD HAVE locked it with your xboxes eeprom.. It sounds like you didnt..
If its a retail hdd i would just go and purchase a LARGER HDD and install it.. If you locked your hdd in the pc then you need to unlock it in the PC..
Then you coudl possibly format in your xbox again and relock it..

Yea I locked it using XboxHDM and using the password ConfigMagic gives you (TEAMASSEMBLY) and it said locked, and indeed the xbox gave an error 07 instead of 06 (cannot unlock HD). So I went back into XboxHDM and told it to unlock it using that password... the Xbox still gave the error 07 so I got kinda lost there... I was told purchasing a modchip would allow me to run the DVD on boot, and I could use one of the programs off AID to salvage this drive.
I do intend to buy a new HD soon, prob a couple weeks from now (since I just bought the modchip), was just hoping to salvage this drive untill then.
