Well i got a free xbox from my cousin and i thought hey why not softmod it.
i seam to always mess up any mod I do even if i folow everything to the tee.
i have done a whole lot of searching before i posted.
I read read and read on how to softmod and founf the xboxhdm and nudure seamed the more logical way to go.
so i downloaded them both and selected the correct check mark that fit my xbox and created th boot disc.
i then hotswapped my xbox got it on the first try and typed xbrowser selected the ndure file backed up my hdd while it was backing it up it then froze and said canot complete the process. then i exited back to the main xbrower to discover all the files in C and E were all like "10dfs0df34j34kjjw3e2"
so then i read read and read and found out to get the original dash board then put a C file with the dash files in there on the xboxhdm then burnt a disk
I did the hotswap again and typed xboxhd selected 2 but i got an error canot find the directory i then figure let me try xbrowser it siad could not find directory.
i decided to boot the hdd in windows it is recognised in the device browser and i used LiveInfo.exe and it recognies the HDD and says it is not locked and i extracted the eeprom.bin not sure that will do any good since the drive is corupted. then i opened up HD_fatXbox_Explorer_1.4,FATXExplorer,Xplorer360 and not one coud recognise the HDD as a master or slave.
i then started up the xboxhdm in frustration and booted xboxhd then selected 1 and it gave me an error could not find partion then i did it i hit the number 5 dont know why but i did. stupid me. I still get an error 13.
then downloaded the AIDv4.30 and have tried 10 times to burn it but evertime it will not burn i tried slayer but i canot burn the disc and i tried SIDv5 but i canot burn any of them for some odd reasopn with image burn, power iso, majic iso, ultra iso, active burner. they say they burnt the iso's but then the disc is blank with no files on it and will not boot off them.
What can i do to get it working again.
and softmod it.
i get an error 13 on the xbox.

Error 13 means your missing dash files. That means your HDD is still locked which is good. What you need to do now is follow this tut to get the dash fixed:http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html.
Once you get that fixed I recommend you use SID 5.0 to install your softmod. Its what I use and its much easier than hotswapping it. You will need mechassult, 007 AUF or splinter cell to do the mod though. You can download SID 5.0 here(you will need a torrent client like uTorrent to download it):www.aidtracker.com
Also the reason your cd's you burnt don't show any files on them is because the computer disc drive can't read the xbox format. Xbox discs are in a format called xiso, which a computer disc drive can't read. If you burnt the discs right they should work fine in your xbox. _________________

That is the tut i was following but once i get to step 11. and hit choice 1 to Build a new Xbox HD from scratch it loads then sais looking for xbox partion on bla... not found
then said exiting to main menu
no matter how many times i hotswap it i get the same response. i have tried all different times to hotswap. i think i am unlocking it
i did option 5 one time does that even matter.
I cant figure out why it will not do it.

Okay i figured out the problem
It was the stupid IDE cable the connector was broken.
so i used the slave connection on it and it worked i was able recover the C drive but the E drive was locked and i could not delete any of the 30 folders and files in there or add any? They are corrupted.
Now i don't have the 007 AUF with me but when i do can i copy the SID on to the HDD by any chance.

Well i wiped out the whole HDD using the option 1 and all is well now i have unleshedX as default with XMBC EvoX and some other programs as apps. I tried to make XBMC as default but i booted to M$DASH instead so i messed some thing up so i went back to the UnleshedX that came with the xboxhdm & ndure install.
I had trouble finding the eeprom back up on the HDD i found two of them at that in the same folder not sure if they are both good or just one ?? but i guess i could try one to install a bigger HDD and see if it works.
