The mod chip has to be easy to install (VERY) easy to install! And allow the coolest things like XBMC!

I would have to say the the Xenium ICE SP is the best on to get. It is absolutly the easiest to install (no soddering at all) and lets you do alot of different things and run any Dashboard including XBMC. I don't use that as a primary dashboard but i do use it alot. It is however the Primary Dashboard on the x-box 1.1 I modded for my kids. That way the can play games, songs, movies, and whatever else. Anyway. That is my vote. I have purchased two of them from divineo.com
Good Luck, and welcome to the club.

Xenium Ice, X3, Smartxx LT OPX:)) If you are looking at it from a features standpoint then these are the best period, if you just want a modchip to play backups, xbmc, etc...etc then any cheap mod should do the trick. The Xenium Ice is the easiest to install and flash in my opinion..Later _________________ Xbox V1.3

Not that any of the other chips are bad by any means, but the Xenium SPICE is the easiest to install, full featured chip, by far. _________________ *Xbox 1.4.

In my experience I have to agree. The Xenium is the easiest chip to install and configure, then the SmartXX chips.
If you have a 1.6 machine, keep in mind that you have to rebuild the LPC area. There are two ways, well, actually you have three options.
1. Wire rebuild.... I NO LIKE!!! lol.
2. LPC Rebuild board. Very sweet, very quick! Stable too. SmartXX makes a rebuild board that works on their chips and Xenium Ice.
3. SmartXX LT OPX has a special install method for the 1.6 that makes you not have to do the rebuild.
Now, I have never installed the spice adapter for the Xenium Ice mod chip. I do not think you have to do an LPC rebuild using the spice adapter, but any other solderless adapter you will. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

don't forget that cheaper modchips like the duox2 or the duox2 lite come at an extremely low price and offer good features. also, all modchips do the same the end. that you have a x3 or a duox2, your xbox will do exactly the "same"!!!
for those interested we now have the duox2 lite at 9.5usd/piece shipped on oki-mod.com (more lower bulk prices) !

I'd have to cast my vote for the Xecuter3. They're newest X3 comes with the 1.6 LPC rebuild, and have you seen the copntrol panel they sell for that chip!? USB, IR, X3 buttons and their LCD built into the plate and it looks like it could have been a stock item. Very pro!!
I also know people with X3 and aladdin chips, and I prefer the X3's capabilities over any other, either in practice or on paper. I personally have an alladin chip, though it's hanging on my wall in a plastic baggie now (never even bothered to install it on my box; opted for the softmod instead). But as chips go, again I would go X3. _________________ XBOX V 1.0 (softmod)
