I have a Samsung DVD drive and Im useing maxell DVD-R's. What brand works best in this drive?
I d/l AID 1.0 off of your guys srver just to see if it wasnt maybe just the verion I got before (AID 1.01).
Heres what I did I burned AID 1.0 useing DVDDecrypter and then (with my retail HDD hooked up) i opened the DVD drive put the AID disk in, closed it, I then just got my bios screen. So I truned my xbox off and then turned it on again and it went to the "flying through space" intro. After a bit it went to screen where I can select from :
Format/Perpare HDD,
Install Microsoft Dashboard
Install Hacked Dashboards
Install Applications
Install Emulators
Tools
Boot Dashboards
Tuen off Xbox
So now that I knew the disk works I turn off my xbox (with the disk still in) connected my new 200GB HDD truned my box back on I got the flubber and after a few seconds my harddrive started makeing a noise like it was skipping, then I got the green error screen that says error 09.
What do you guys think is causeing this? Cause isnt AID suppose to detect a new HDD when its booted?
I got my HDD off of modchipman.com where they said already "the hard drive comes ready with an image of your XBOX on it, just plug and play and your xbox will go from stock 8-10gb to a 200gb drive"
Im not sure what Im doing wrong, and I know theres others haveing this problem
Thanx for Your time guys

Yeah, AID should be detected, but also there may be a problem with the HD... I'm not certain..but it just doesn't make sense that you can boot AID fine with your stock HD and not the new one.
I would contact the person you purchased the HD through and explain to them that you are getting 09 errors with their drive, but other drives are working flawlessly.
Good luck...
If you ever need, or know anyone who needs a drive that is preconfigured let me know. I sell them very reasonably. I saw someone buy a 160GB HD off of that guy for $179.00, I was shocked. That's how much I get for a 250GB and mine have more features.
Explain to them that your chip is booting fine, and your stock HD is booting fine. Maybe, even go ahead and install evox onto the stock HD just to prove to them that your chip/bios is working fine. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Is AID booting fine if when I simply open the DVD drive put the disk in close it and nothing happens, but when i turn my xbox off then on again the AID screen comes up?
Second if Im getting AID to boot useing maxell brand DVD-R's do I need to try other brands? Cause I tried burning AID v1.01 to a Memorex brand DVD-R with DVDdecrypter and kept getting "power calebration area error" dont know whats going on there.
Finally on the X3CP what positon/color should the protect button be in so that my chip in enabled.

Correct. What you have to remember is, AID is a boot disk. Just like when you boot a windows starup disk in your pc. You turn it off, put the disk in the floppy drive and turn your PC on. AID acts the same way.

I personally always had problems with maxell and memorex. But, if you can get something to boot like you have, then stick with those. I use a lot of cheap'o brands like CompUSA DVD-R's, SpinX DVD-R's, and Value Disk DVD_R's.
Also, I use a DVD Burning program called CloneDVD2 to burn my ISO's. I have just had excellent success with it.

If the light is green, that means you are good and the bank is protected. If the light is red, then that means the bank is subject to flashing.
