Alright, I got a few questions to ask yall. Lets make this in order:
1)I'm about to buy a 50" plasma sony tv (wega) for $4200. The original price is about 7000.00 but I know someone who works at sony and I get a 2800 dollar discount. Should I go with this deal?
2)How long does the gas in the tube last? I dont wan't to refill them after 2 years.
3)Hows the resoulution on it, I think you can't play games on a plama. Also the wega engine is a pretty good one from what I've been hearing.
4)Oh yeah, If I refill the gas tube, how much will it be?
5)Are there any other better plasma tv's then sony? I don't think so
6)Should I consider a 42' lcd for 10,000? I mean lcd's are brighter and better but they cost about twice as much more. I might be able to get a 3-4 thousand dollar discount. But I mean after my plasma runs out of gas, I could just buy a new LCD and the prices might get cheaper by then.
Try and Help me ASAP Yall!!

DO NOT BUY A PLASMA TV!!!
Plasma TVs a more clear and sharp...but they only have half the life of an LCD tv.
Plasma TV displays are of course made up of plasma. over time lets say 2 years your plasma tv will begin to fade the color wont be as clear and bright or sharp. This is because over time the gasses in the disply tend to "die" or become used.
I would only buy a Plasma TV if it came with 4 year extended waranty like BestBuy sells you...That way if the picture does fade you can trade it in.
So in conclusion I am urging that you do not to buy a Plasma TV...and reccomend that you do buy a LCD TV. Either way i would spend the extra money and buy from a store that offers some type of extended waranty. I cant begin to tell you how many times i have seen froozen, dead pixels on monitors and TVs.Most of the factory 1 year waranty (that comes with the TV) states that you must have over 6 bad, froozen, dead, ect pixels before you can return/echange them. _________________ [RIP Radio]

Plasmas are soooo sweet though. I mean, if you got the money to burn...get the plasma. If you are looking for longevity, get an LCD or DLP. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I've had quite a bit of problem with what TV to buy next. I mean, I want to use the progressive scan capabilities for a few XBOX/PS2 games, and my DVD player and such (finding out that 100Hz did not =progressive scan pissed me off after my mum bought a new TV ).
I'm not on that high a budget, probably up to £1000, (under $2000). I've heard you can get progressive scan on regular monitors? How would that work? If so I was thinking of getting a widescreen 20" monitor for about £400 or something.
I was also considering LCD tvs and projectors, but I got quite a bit confused over the whole 100Hz/Progressive Scan/HDTV thing and the difference between them.
I mean, right now, I'm leaning towards a projector, just concerned about how the picture looks compared to LCD (or even CRT).
I could really do with some advice....

I cant think of anything greater than playing halo2 on a plasma. I say go for it.

I would recommend a lcd or a DLP, plasma screens have a major burn in issue with games. Some LCD's have slow image processing and lag a bit with fast motion.DLP fixes all these problem but have a rainbow effect on white.
