hi guys ..i have just softmodded my first xbox with no probs ..what i need to know is i bought an 80gig hard drive with apps and stuff the guy i got it off said to just take the old hard drive out and put in the new one .has anyone done this before and is it as simple as he says or is it more complex than that ,any advice will do thanks

it wont work because hes assuming u had a modchip... softmods require a eeprom.bin to lock hd.. as wehre the hd he /she metioned is totaly unlocked _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

You will need application like configmagig to make a back up of the eeprom from you motherboard. Then xboxhdm to take eeprom and lock the 80gig hdd to it. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

thanks , i did tell him it was softmodded ,he said i could still do it but a chip would be better ,i have evox dash and i have noticed in systems menu there is a lock harddrive and unlock harddrive option can i not use this to unlock the exsisting hard drive then put the new one in

There is no need to unlock your exhisting hdd, that is only screw things up.
You can lock the 808 gig with a mod chip or with xboxhdm 1.9. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS
