ill try to reflash the spider chip with another version. And by the way i did use the correct dummy file to lower the AID file down to 659 mb from the 1.6 gb.

what should i do to reflash the spider? should i just try another bios.bin on a cdrw?? Cause i still cant get the aid to work on it ... but it works on other modded boxes ... should i use a softmod so the dash can run off the hd?? any one got a clue?

I am not one on softmodding but I read a ton
Try using the MechAssault game save hack to gain FTP access to your E:, if you dont already, & copy a good bios there.....or even just burn it onto a cd & reflash at the chip menu

yes, but it is recommended to have at least a small dummy file. i guess the dummy file is the first thing written to the disc so the xbox doesn't have to read from the smallest area on the disc *shrugs*

yea i wasn't to sure about the thing either, but i erased it to add roms to the disk

How do I FTP into the chip? ... did i miss something? I know how to run the game save hack (i use MA) and how to ftp using it. But how do you locate the chip to plop the bios on that?

ALright : UPDATE :
I installed the spider into a 1.4 and its bios worked (evox8 + 16). ( I couldn't get it to work on the 1.6 for some reason. So, I asking people to tell me what their bios is for their spider chips in their 1.6 boces. Havent gotten any replies yet tho . So I was thinking about this. I put the 1.6 stock hdd into the chipped 1.4. Ran the AID. Unlocked the HDD, formatted it, prepared drive E, Installed M$ dash, and locked the HDD. THen you get error code 5 (can't unlock). So I unlocked it put it back in and got error code 6 (can't lock). SO obviously that rout is impossible ... however ... would this be possible??? Okay what if I plopped a bios onto this stock HDD so that it acts as if its chipped ? Would this work?? Would any bios that is unlyingly running be picked up by LIVE? Cause that is my intentions with this hd in the 1.6. If not I'm trying to figure out what bios on a spider works in a 1.6. That way I can put the chip in the 1.6 and then just format it all there get it working then take out the chip. ANyone see anything thats not possible/difficult? thanks again guys!!
