I agree with you tonespace, it's very hard for newbies to find good support with some of the other forums. There is so much flaming and newbie bashing going on.
They act as if you ask a question that has been asked before you're a moron or something.
This has to be the kindest modding community for newer modders, and an all out great place to hang for information sharing. The hard work of a few has certainly made this a great place for the many.

i can at least tell you that a 200 gig hard drive is NOT worth $200. shop around.
You can find 200GB HDs in the US for cheaper at places like newegg.com, but they give you absolutely NO tech support. Also, no Xbox modder is gonna have the volume to compete with places like newegg. Brick-and-mortar retailers, like Best Buy, have had decent HDs of this size for about $30-40 cheaper, when they have them in stock, which ain't too often at my local Best Buy.
I have yet to run into a modder that was running their business as a non-profit organization, at least not intentionally. The last time I was in London, a can of Coke cost me $1.60, so I think you can reasonably deduce that certain items are more expensive there.
My local computer store charges more than Best Buy, but they are only about 5 miles away vs. Best Buy being 60+ miles away. If prices are too high at the local store, I can waste 5 gallons of gas & 3+ hours driving to Best Buy. It's usually cheaper in the long run to support my local store.
I can't believe anyone with any knowledge of the costs of hosting a site would think a measly $10 fee was significant. I suspect Forahobby has spent a significant amount of his own cash paying for the bandwidth this site eats up! Yikes!
I've paid for a year's VIP membership, then paid for a lifetime VIP membership long before the yearly subscription would expire. I also made a $20 donation... so how much have I spent? $60 or so? Money well-spent! It's a bargain and an investment! I want to make sure xbox-hq survives for myself and for others. Sure, I can hunt all over the freakin' place for all the software available here, but I've got better things to do.... like gaming!
What's up, guys? I've been spending TOO much time DSing and not enough time Xboxing lately!

No, I never got it working... I may be sending you an Xbox to Xenium Icize. Can't get that dang X3 working... gave up on it!
Never got the Xtender working. Is yours working?
Man! I love this DS! I wish there was a hand-held Xbox! H2 On Da Go! That would se SOOOO awesome! Woo-Hoo! I do most of my gaming during down-time... can't drag an Xbox and monitor back & forth to work every day.
I've been spending money left & right. I ended up buying 5 DSs for my family. I've purchased every US DS cartridge released so far... plus 2 Jap releases (& 2 more Jap on the way! Lik-Sang loves me!). It's pretty cool that some games are multi-player with only one cartridge needed! Kids are lovin' it! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

I havnent' tried putting the Xtender together yet. I have several machines I have to blow out, not too mention trying to get product cancelled for one too.
Someone ordered a 600.00 machine and now they want to cancel. I get charged a 30% restocking fee on all returned items, I am hoping to get them cancelled before they ship in effort to not lose that money.
Not too mention the 18.10 hit I took on PayPal for fees...sheesh.
Buyers regret is a bitch...lol.
Let me know whenever you want me to hook you up with that Xenium. Just email me and I'll hook you up sweet. I'll let you know how my Xtender venture goes.

Sounds like you need a cancellation policy! Just to CYA. I think most people would find it reasonable to cover what you've lost. Sometimes on ebay, after I've won a big-ticket item, I think "Oh sh!t! What have I done!". More than once, I've thought about emailing the seller and offering them $50-100 to just call off the sale. I've never done it, but I've seriously contemplated it.
Any chance you could use the parts on another mod? It might beat paying the restocking fee. _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room
