I used avalaunch for a short time to test it out. It hanged 2 times so I switched back to evox.
I only launch it from evox now to transfer games. If you use qwix with avalaunch there's a boost feature and it's just amazing. On their site it says speeds over 3x that of nomal ftp but I'm getting 4-5x faster transfer times.

I use Evox a lot but what's cool about Avalaunch is that it will update itself.
I upgraded to the newest version just by putting my Xbox on the internet and told it to download the upgrade. Did so in less than a minute. Evox? Don't think so. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I use avalaunch and I love it, EVOX seems a bit slow to get through the scrolling and avalaunch has it easy jus by having sections , same as evox, but it sits right on your screen, with out having to scroll through. and I have always used it to ftp box to box, qwith out any lag, delay or hangups. i love avalaunch, and barely even use evox. well not yet anyway, now i got my comp up we shall see soon i guess. hehehe
I still cant figure how to get trainers to my box from my PC though. Avalaunch doesnt have that . but i got like 4 dashboards. _________________ SmartXXv2/4983.06 bios

Just officially switched to Avalaunch. It's got some nice features, although it's lacking some of what's missing from Evox.
You can play music in the background, download skins or apps straight to your Xbox (while you're still using the internet on your PC), and easily transfer your files from Box to Box.
I also like its layout with the stationary menu rather than Evox's menu which only takes up the bottom third of the screen. Many of Ava's features are easily configurable in the application itself unlike Evox, as well.
Avalaunch also has great X3 support.
I agree though that we need a dash that uses the best elements from all the current options. If one dash is going to do it, though, my bet is on either Ava or XBMC.
