It has the female usb end to connect usb devices. I have a usb SNES controller I'm trying to get working with it. I'll admit, I'm not super savvy with a lot of these things, but I've done a lot to my machine myself by following guides and learning. Of course, it doesn't recognize the controller, and I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas.
I know it's completely possible the adapter will only work for a keyboard, but I've seen on several sites selling this cable or similar that any usb device should connect.
Thanks for any help; I've lurked a lot in these forums to learn a lot.

It all depends on support. If its Linux supported its a 50/50 chance it will recognise if no linux support then its like herpies, AKA NOBODY WILL WORK WITH IT lol.
And those sites that say "any USB" have NOT delved into the XBOX world. They are speaking PC, and yes XBOX technically is a PC its like a GF with blackmail material
