Hi everyone. I softmodded my xbox via hotswap with xboxhdm+ndure 3.1 awhile back and now I want to upgrade to a Maxtor 120gb I have laying around that's lockable according the compatibility list. However, every tutorial I've read requires me to copy my C drive and it appears I have a virtual/shadow C installed because both the C drive itself and the supposed backup in the E drive are empty folders. All of my dashboards are in the apps folders and the system boots to Evox where I can run apps but I can't seem to boot the msdash, which makes me wonder if something is up with my C drive. I have tried to burn Frosty's and Hexen to dvds at different speeds and my xbox starts to read it and then the laser just decides not to read it. I have a version 1.0 xbox and according to Unleashx I have a Thompson drive, which is apparently really shitty. Oddly enough though the xiso games boot with no problem. I tried the hdd version of Hexen (Hexin?) in hopes of getting rid of the shadow C and it wouldn't work fully on either Krayzie's or the other one, saying something about how it can't delete stuff. Is there a way that I can just build a new hdd with just my eeprom and the stock dash files or is my personal C absolutely necessary? Thank you all in advance because I'm completely at a loss of what to do and any help would be most appreciated.

^^ shadowC isn't essential but if for the sake of argument you let kids or gluesniffers near your xbox, it's there to PROTECT it from them!
stop fools from changing any of the C:/ volume in any way!
okay, you have eeprom.bin, great!
all you need to go is get "autobuilder 5.1" OR "sid5 BABYLON" (the latter requires direct permission to get it, speak to the DEV SPPV) and as you're familiar with "xbhdm" this should be a CAKEWALK by comparison!
yep, with the above, you can rebuild the "C:/" volume back to spec!
.......
as for shadowC, it can be a pain in the arse if you forget it's there!
ONLY the method used to enable it/mod the console can disable it again!
a C:/ volume rebuild will sort all that out anyway but be sure...
if you let others on your xbox, shadowC is there to stop them from stabbing you in the back!
whether by devious design or by genuine accident! _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

Yup go AutoBuilder5.1 or Babylon. All you need to do is backup your eeprom and FTP it to your PC for inclusion. Everything else is there. Its a simple click, wham-bam thank you mam operation.
Also there is a very easy way to disable the shadow C as long as you are running NKPatcher11 forward which you should be since you used Kingroach.
Unzip the attached file, copy the NKP11 folder to the root of E, turn your XBOX off and back on. No more shadow c. To enable shadow c just delete the NKP11 folder. Unless Kingroach disabled this backdoor when he compiled his XBE's it WILL work. Cant see why he would though, its a very handy backdoor
Thank you both so much for your help. I'm now waiting for Autobuilder to finish downloading and then I'll give it a shot. Just to be clear all I have to do is lock the new hdd with my eeprom after running it thru the Autobuilder and then swap the original hdd with my new one while the xbox is off right?
Also thank you for that NKP11 file SPPV, I tried it out and it disabled shadow c perfectly.

AutoBuilder is very simple. Its like Kingroach NDURE, just better lol. If you follow the instructions in my read me thats included youre gold. Difference between my flavour and Kingroachs is I include all the ingredients and make it simple. Like blonde chick simple You just need the eeprom to lock the new HDD. Dont worry when you go to build the new HDD and it says no files found in XBOXHDM/C, Files found in XBOXHDM/Pimped/C. The Pimped files are what you want. This was added due to the boot restrictions of the ISOLinux used in XBOXHDM. It wont boot on discs above roughly 2GB so I needed a work around to force boot on my full pack 4.35GB discs hence Pimped.
No worries on the NKP11 file. I wrote that bin in notepad in like 3 seconds LMAO. Why Heimdall didnt exploit this backdoor in Hexen is beyond me.

Unfortunately the Autobuilder v5 dvd I burned just refused to be read by my drive. However, I then tried your SID5 Pimped CD Edition and everything is working fine =) Now I'm just ftp'ing all of the stuff over that Autobuilder would have put on my new hdd. Thanks again for your help.
