Hi, I'm a complete Newbie and I was directed from an administrator from theisozone.com to come here. I am trying to HEXEDIT and XBE 480p to 720p. If this is NOT the right forum, someone please redirect me. Thank You.

You want an app called Dexbe. Once you have that its a cake walk to hex edit the xbe to support 720p. Bear in mind depending on how the game is programmed artificialy increasing resolution can make it look/run like shit

You need to load the xbe into dexbe then pick resolution change, check off 720 then hit create new xbe

Ok sorry If I'm asking too many questions but what is the most recent version? I've downloaded ver. .5 and It doesn't have "Resolution Change" & "720p" option unless I'm missing something?

DeXBE may only change hax values, not be a resolution service.
If you find out how it works, post here and I'll try editing all my games to 1080i :3
I imagine the GPU will choke on it or the CPU will bottleneck the GPU (does this actually happen in the Xbox ever?) _________________

In the past I've changed E0 01 (480p) & 80 02 (640p) with D0 02 (720p) &
00 05 (1280p) and I'd have weird outcomes like the game screen up in the right corner or a complete crash. I might be replacing the wrong values. Now I've been using a disassembly program to view the resolution, but I can't reassemble it to a XBE only EXE so I'm trying to ask around to see what I'm doing wrong or how to patch it etc.

You can probably just change the extension to XBE. I doubt the hex editor will actually make it Windows compatible.
If E0 01 is 480p, E0 02 is 720p, then wouldn't the Xbox's third state, 1080i, be E0 03?
EDIT: this made no sense >_< _________________

SPPV, can you tell us how to do this? There isn't anything about resolutions in DeXBE. _________________

Yeah someone from theisozone.com told me to get a hold of SPPV So do you know of a way to change the resolution of game like NBA 2K2 which is a direct dreamcast port and already supports 480p HDTV? Its resolution in Hex Values is E0 01 (480) & 80 02 (640). The 720p Hex Values are D0 02 (720) & 00 05 (1280). To look at both in a Disassembler would bring up 1E0h (480) & 280h (640). 720p would be 2D0h (720) & 500h (1280). My trouble is finding the right ones to replace because there are multiple E0 01's or 80 02 etc. and so on.

Theres multiple because it will have resolution settings for all cut scenes etc. If you dont see a resolution option it means you are using one of the older Dexbe releases or the free releases. And changing the extension from exe to xbe doesnt work exe and xbe are compiled different. You would need to use CXBOX after words to recompile as an xbe.
