When it comes up unknown 9 times out of 10 that means a bad default.xbe or no default.xbe. Try patching the XBE before making the ISO

I disagree, as far I remember the console detects as game any disk with a default.xbe, If it needs patch it crash when booting the disk.
A good way to check that is to copy the game to the xbox HDD and try booting it _________________

Its the default.xbe that tells it what game it is. When I came up with Spoof Disc I ran into it alot and it wasnt until I redid the xbe that it would register the disc as XBOX software. If the xbe is fine it should say Black or what ever game it is even if it cant run or rip it
