I have an Friendtech DreamX-733 128mb ram sytem with Xecuter 3CE Modchip , LCD Faceplate, 2 USB ports and ProSwitches. And I wanted to install the DVD eye to the Xbox system either using controller port 2 or the USB ports. My big question for this is do I really need to install a 4PDT (4 pole double throw) 12V relay to keep things separate in order for all the ports to work? A friend used the 2nd port and for soe reason, the dvd eye worked but when you plug the controller to the port nothing happened. Does the dvd eye reciever really take out that much power that it can't be shared?

I wouldnt try to split a controller port in two. When it comes to wiring via the controller port you need to decide which is more important the thing being wired in or functionality as a controller port.
