Ive got an old laptop that shit the bed but I managed to salvage the HDD out of it (an 80GB EIDE) and I noticed the power interface on it is different than a normal IDE. Is it possible to hook them up to an XBOX, what kind of interface converter would I need. Anyone here try this before? If so how did you go about it? What were the results?

I can't say much for the connector because I've never seen an IDE laptop hard drive. I know if you did get it to work you'd have to figure out a way to custom mount it. _________________

Its the same dimensions as a SATA laptop HDD but the interface is nothing but small pins you can fit a ribbon cable for data but your left with 4 pins of the same size for power. 44pin as opposed to the classic 40pin IDE config
Mounting its the easy part since the holes line up so i can screw it in on one side for sure and if I find long enough screws I can get it from the other side as well. Or just use the metal case its in and screw it right to the bottom of the tray with 1 inch wood screws
