hi i am having a lil bit of trouble trying to fix my xbox. in the process of softmoding my xbox my computer decided to freeze up and i had to restart it. i decided to turn it on and noticed that it would boot up into evolution x but not to the ms dashboard. so since i noticed the problem i decided to retrieve the backup from it. i ftp'ed it to my computer and noticed that there was nothing in the c drive only on the e drive of the hdd. i looked into backup and realised the only thing that was backuped was the c drive but there was no EEPROM in it. any ideas on how to save my xbox???

This tutorial might help you:

If you had a modchip you wouldnt need to worry about this sort of thing.. You could just insert the AIDELUXE dvd/cd and boot/format your hdd again and reinstall everything.

If you softmodded it will take a bit more work.

Loads of guys have used this before to get their xbox working again.
There may be another alternative but not that i can think of or find right now.

I just tried that and it's not letting me. ill explain it a lil better i have only one ide port for my mobo. but the ide cable has two spots to connect two drives to it. so i connect the cd/dvd drive to it and set the pin to slave. the xbox hdd i set the pin to master and connect it to the other one when i do the swap. the thing that it is doing is it eather says none bootable device and or it will boot from cd but when i get to the part where it says to type xboxhd and enter it, it will say linux not found,... i force error 12 to make sure the hdd remains unlocked but i just cant get past the xboxhd part. should i try using a different computer with two separte ide cables one for hdd one for cd/dvd?
