well done vidtutorial! just what I need!
But I ran into trouble again!
I followed the vid, just chose XBMC dash over of evoX (that's what i need anyways for XBMC, right?)
And when i'm asked to shut down and remove disks and restart I get a maintenance screen instead of the box finishing the installing (sounds familiar from my first modding attempt)
what's wrong?
when I bood with the drive open i get to the main xbox screen as normal since it's a hacked+msdash like in the vid, so that part worked.
can't be truuue! help!

21 - anywhere -
This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag
This occurs frequently when the xbox is unable to boot due to dashboard changes being made (ie Gcue true blue hasnt been resigned, parts of the stock dash are missing - incomplete FTP backups copied to a new HDD for example).
it's 21 - and the description seems to match - but what to do?

If it will boot a live game just unhook your net cable and launch the game like your going to play on live, that should repair the dash.

I think it's the XMBC not the MSdash that's broken.
with open device i get to the normal xbox screen with options and this error code just occurs when i boot with closed device how it was supposed to boot and install the rest of the softmod which it didn't.
you think your advice would help?

What do you mean by open device and how are you opening the ms dash if not by the xbe?

i mean booting with the cd drive open - then I get to the normal xbox manu as you see it when you boot without a cd. I thought that would be the MS Dash.
when the drive is closed when I boot I get the error code.
I thought that was a kind of dual boot...

I followed the video tutorial, so I have.
YOu think that would make sense? I think the Softmod install isn't completed since it didn't install the rest after reboot...

I have no idea about this ftp thing and the howto doesn't really tell.
Could I also do it with an USB stick?
or is there a howto on the ftp somewhere?
