I been been looking into softmodin a xbox for my mother and been reading all the how-to's i can. My question is does it matter what version the xbox is and the kind of HDD you use?
ii'm looking into 2 HDD:
Western Digital - Caviar GP 500GB Internal Hard Drive
model: WD5000CSRTL
and
Western Digital - 500GB Internal Hard Drive
model: WD5000JBRTL
But before I go though all this, i know that you can get firefox on the box but i was wondering if its possible to play pogo games on it like a pc. Not the down-loadable ones but the ones on the browsers.
if any1 can tell me about the HDD's and about pogo please tell me i would appreciate it. My mother cant get around that well and its hard for her to walk so i figure an xbox would b able to play pogo since it can support firefox

Use the one that is IDE and you will be fine with any model of xbox, sata drives need more work to run in an xbox.
As for the browser games i dont know but if i had to guess i would say no they wont work.

The PS1 Roms will work just fine bro but there is no ps2 emu so they are out.
Just use the disc you have in your PC and cut it to .bin .cue and the ps1 Roms should run fine.

No man we have a whole section for EMU ROM stuff and if you check the site rules the one thing not allowed is talk of piracy.
If you own the disc then its your right to back it up.
