The problem is when you mod it with a chip and put a bunch of games on the HDD to sell it.
I think the raids had more to do with piracy then the chips.
(give them the razer but sell them the blades.)
They gave us the razer but every one keeps stealing the blades.
Buy your games folks, stop buying games and they might stop making the consoles.

I still buy my games an just copy them to the HDD for faster access times and it also means I dont have to mess about with the disk. However obtaining a game illegally and putting it onto your HDD is another matter all-together. _________________ XBOX V1.6

With the price of xbox games dropping like flys i just dont know how any one can not buy the games.
I have been seeing 2 and 3 doller bins full of xbox games and its allways good to grab them at that price.
The chip is a tool and its not a bad tool unless you use it that way.

Yeah, like wes says, with the price of games these days it just seems stupid to embark on piracy. You'd spend more cash on line rental and broadband fees to download a title than it would to just go and buy it.
Mine is simply for ease of use. So that all the games I own are in one place without the need to keep getting up, switching disks over etc. I like to change games a lot.

I chipped my box for use of my games, the games are very cheap now, I mostly did the mod for the fact that my kids were always messing up the disc, like I said guys looking for another chip, in which brings up another question ? is it legal to have one game that I own copied on two xboxes that I own, in the same house, if that matters? I want to chip another box for me..... my kids have taken over the other one. anyone ?

If you own the games and you own the Xbox's and you're all under one roof, then yeah, thats no prob at all. Its no different from buying a game, playing on your Xbox, then going into the kids room and playing it on that Xbox etc. If you've purchased it, then you are its legal owner. If you have two Xbox's, both yours, not giving or selling to anyone else, then you are well within your legal rights my friend.

Well the only way to get a chip now is eithier hope scarface comes across one or have a friend in Canada where they still sell them but they don't ship to the United States. But like I said try talking with Scarface. If he doesn't have it in stock he can usually get ahold of it. And he is more reliable then any modchip store on the net when it comes to price, shipping and getting it to you fast. I have bought multiple items from him and always been 100% satisfied. _________________

i find this a lot like the controversy of p2p downloads. i've heard some people say all p2p shood b stopped because of how its been used for pirating everything. wale others say hell no we cant afford to host this open source file, we need p2p to get this to everyone. like most things in life its up to you to use it the right way. as several people here said if you are just using it in your house n you bought it legit ley than its fine.

Ever heard the expression "guns don't kill people, people kill people". Well, its the same philosophy with p2p and any software like that. It isn't the p2p site/host/software that causes pirating, people do.
In technology, in life, we can choose how to use it, what to do with it and in the end, it falls to the individual. To their own conscience, own sense of right and wrong, legal and moral obligations.
Will we ever stop piracy, I doubt it. But we can choose not to support it. Thats why the HQ has a very strict policy when it comes to piracy in it various forms.
On the flip side though, we will do all we can to help and support those who support the gaming industry by going out and purchasing their games.
