ok so ive had my xbox for over a year now and its got a solerless executer 2.6 in it with aid 3.2 installed.
The problem is i now have a Sharp 42" hdtv capable of 1920x1080, my xbox is connected by the scart that comes bundled with it and unfortunatly the picture leaves a lot to be desired, blacks look grey and it all looks blurry so i went on a hunt on how to get the best possible picture and found This now at the bottom it notes that:

To enable High Definition modes your XBox must be set to 'NTSC' - this will be standard on a USA or JAP console however if you have a PAL XBox you must be able to set it to NTSC to enable these options.
How do i do this? or will it already be enabled? is it just a case of bying this and plugging it in??
thanks in advance for any help you can give me, feel free to ask any questions and ill do my best to answer[/url]

To switch to NTSC from the XBMC main dash go to settings/programs/general and you will see the video mode switching option.
To enable the 720 and 1080 go to settings/appearance/view options and you will see the options for that.
Might want to put a copy of enigma video mode switch on CD before you make any changes just incase.

Hi again sorry its been so long (my parents live miles away) anyway i went and installed a 320GB HDD with the new AID 4.20 disk and all went well, the only problem is i havent got a component connection on my tv oops! so its still thru the scart that comes with the xbox... which means that the options to switch to 720 and 1080 are greyed out
I did look for a component to hdmi converter but would it be worth it? This one has anyone had any experiance with these?? my only concern is this:
Quote:
(* Please note that as Component cables don't have an integrated audio signal, a separate lead to an amp will have to be used to produce the audio, or alternatively an SPDIF cable can be used to route the audio through this converter unit, giving you full video and audio to the HDMI output.)
but i do have a nice stereo sitting under the tv if that would work? this hi-def larks a pain in the bum tbh lol
thanks for your time again wes213
