Does your xbox boot to the retail version with the flubber screen? I get the impression that it does and that you just can't get it to successfully soft mod?I believe even if you can make a new HD, you will need the eeprom file from your xbox. you will still have to soft mod it when your done. the Hard drives that I have made with Xboxhdmker still need to be softmodded when I have placed them back in the xbox. are you using an xbox memory card, I use a madcatz #4507 and a xob-25319 memory cards and call me paranoid but I put the installer on one by itself and the game save xploit on the other by itself. and I delete any game save that is already on the xbox that pertains to splinter cell ( cuz that is what I use) update the dash with an online game if it needs it ( you said you used Halo ) I have used Madden football and even Advent rising I don't think that it matters. you said that you installed a usb hub on your xbox are you using the memcards or a Usb stick? I think they will work but you may have to try a couple different manufactures to get one that will work ( cuz even if you install the correct drivers and it looks good it won't work) Im a noob here and I really think these guys will definitly get you going, I tried at least fifteen times to get my homemade usb controllers and usb sticks to work until I finally ftped them to a modded xbox and transfered them to memcards. I have modded about ten xboxs using the same two memcards and it works the same way every time (Sweet) Keep trying Dude.

You must also delete all splinter cell savegames before you copy sid savegame over. If you have other save games of splinter cell it wont work. _________________

I know you said you used the mechassault game save so maybe you also have to delete all previous mechassault game saves before you install and use the mechassault exploit. try that.
