Hi,

I'm trying to set up a new hard drive in an older xbox (version 1.2 with an X2) and I'm constantly getting an error 13. I've tried a both the Slayers and AID 4.10 Lite and still haven't had any luck. I thought that perhaps the drive just wasn't reading the discs so I attempted to put a PC CDROM drive in (set to SLAVE) and that didn't seem to work either. I've tried both CD-R and CD-RW media with no luck. I'm currently downloading 4.10 full/non-lite and will burn to a DVD-RW (don't have any blank DVD-Rs currently) but am not holding out a whole lot of hope.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that might help me out?

Thanks!

I'm using Nero to burn the image. I've tried to a CDRW. I can give it another shot. Should I use DVD Decrypter instead?

Yeah man you can give that a go and make sure your set to the lowest setting on the burner speed.
If you do retry with nero make sure its at lowest speed and that you use nero image burn and not burn data to disk. Wink

May also be the brand of CD/DVD your using. Some xboxes wont read certain brands while others can read that brand.

Wanted to post an update. Didn't have any luck with the CD-R(W)/DVD-R(W)s. What I ended up doing to get it to work was use xboxhdm to get the drive set up.

-I extracted the necessary C drive files from a copy of Slayers 2.7 to the xboxhdm c drive
-copied my xbmc dashboard to the proper location within xboxhdm.
-Ran the bat file to make my Linux xboxhdm ISO.
-Burned it.
-Hooked my desired xbox hard drive up to my PC as Primary Master
-Hooked my PC CD ROM as Primary Slave
-Booted off the burned ISO
-went to the VGA console and ran the xboxhdm prog and choose create a drive from scratch

That last step walked me through partitioning/formatting the drive and then copied over the files I had set up for the C and E drives. At this point I was able to then drop the drive into the Xbox and get it to boot off the dash. From there I could ftp over anything else I needed.

Here's a link to the tutorial that helped me out a bit:

Thanks wes213 and dartht33bagger for you help!!
