I'm new to xbox modding, please bear with me.
Can anyone please guide me to upgrade my HDD. I have 10GB right now and I'm planning to upgrade to 350GB (Maxtor). I was searching xbox-hq for a good tutorials for upgrading HDD but most of them say "out of date tutorials".
Does anyone know a good and up to date HDD tutorial? Please post it here I really need it badly.
I have an xbox with AID 3 installed. I can FTP to my xbox from my PC. What else do I need to do the HDD upgrade? Please let me know, Thank you!

Oh well that makes it so ez then.
Just ftp your xbox and backup anything you want to save, then hook up the new hdd to your xbox pop in the aid disc and reboot the xbox with the disc in it.
From there all you need to do is select the one click install then select larger hdd and select the dash you want.
Ftp the backup info into the xbox if you had any and your good to go man.
It really is that ez, with a chip you dont even need to lock the hdd unless you want to use the MS stock dash with the chip off.

You must use an IDE drive. You can NOT use SATA drives in an Xbox. (I wish you could as I just came across a 750GB one!!!!) _________________ If it ain't broke, I probably haven't had time to mess with it.

Yes you can use a sata drive but you need to convert the tip from sata to ide so it bottle necks the speed and wold be no faster then an ide.

I thought I can use SATA for xbox. So IDE drive only.... can anyone knows where I can find a good deal for IDE drive? My local store (BestBuy & CircuitCity) offers SATA drive. They don't carry IDE drive (I think) not sure though.
Does anyone know any good deal for IDE drive at least 200-500GB that I can actually use for xbox upgrade. Cause I read that some of the HD are not compatible for xbox, is that true?
I appreciate the link... Thanks in advance.

My bad. The worst thing is I knew you could convert it. I wasn't thinking about it though. _________________ If it ain't broke, I probably haven't had time to mess with it.

It just aint worth it to convert it, for the price of a 100 gb sata you can get a 500gb ide.
So in the long run its best to stick with ide.
