Reading through the 300 tutorials, old/new information, etc is really difficult .. Its a nightmare to pick out the current state of things.
So, I'm posting here .. I hope this doesn't offend anyone.
Now, what I'm trying to do is to see what the easiest way is to grab large HDs and put them in soft modded Xboxes. I have Action Replay, I have Splinter Cell, I've used them to softmod xboxes, but what I'd like to do now is put in 250gb drives in all of them.
I have the 4.11 image of AID, and based on what I've read I could potentially use it to load up the 250gb drive, partition it, etc? If thats true, does anyone have a walkthrough? I question it because I dont think my xbox loads those style disks until they are softmodded, which means would you have to yank the drive while it's running and connect the new 250gb?
Anyway, the other method (connecting it to your PC) sounds complicated since it requires making a disk with the evox dashboard .. something I don't have anywhere. *maybe* would someone be willing to FTP an ISO of that to me and help me out with the process? I would be greatly appreciative.
I was almost considering getting a modchip so I could just do that method .. something quick and painless to clip on real fast .. but I'd rather not if I dont have to.

Not sure what the EvoX thing you're talkin about is. The only method I know of where you stick the HDD in your PC is xboxhdm. The method I think you're talkin about using AID for is the hotswap method which I don't know much about other than its defenitly not the safest way of doin it. You could also try the program Chimp which comes w/ AID and you do that with the OG drive in the box and the other also I'll get into that method more if you wanna do it. Let me know which one you wanna try and I'll hook you up w/ a link to the tutorial you need and the programs you need. _________________

I'd like a method that I don't have to connect it to my PC, if possible.
Is there an even easier one, maybe one that doesn't require connecting the HD to my system and I can just connect it to the XBox, have it partition and copy the Dashboard(s) over and be done with it?

thats the xboxhdm method. theres a way to do it using only your xbox as long as you have a y-splitter to power both HDDs that is unless your xbox is a v1.6 and then it gets a lil more complicated. You can also do it with AID with out using your PC but I'm not sure how to do it that way since I only use xboxhdm and chimp ocassionally. So pick which yo wanna do and I'll hook you up with all my wisdom of how to do it that way. _________________
