I'm having a weird problem and hope somebody knows the answer. My x-box doesnt go to the standard menu but the following menu instead:
MS DASHBOARD
REBOOT (not helping)
POWER OFF
SETTINGS
BACKUP
Does anybody know what i should do?

Softmod or chip?
If its chip what kind?
what dash are you running?
And more details on the prob wold help.

It's softmod
The dash i'm runnin...hehe who knows?!
At least it sais XBOX-HQ.COM in the dash skin, so thats how i got here. With a couple of comic characters. And the maincolor is green. It's been installed 2 years ago i'm guessin.
Wish i could get more info...but as a genius expert i guess u allready know what dash i'm usin...hope u can help me out...and yes i've got NOOB tattood on my forehead

Well from the look of it the mod was done with aid (aauto installer deluxe) your best and safest bet wold be to down lode the aid 4.01 and use it to set up a new dash.
At the bottem of your post it said you want something with media, i wold go with the XBMC dash that can be found on the aid disc.
You will need a bit client to downlode the aid disc such as bitcomet.

Burn that to disc when its done, it will get you out of lots of probs.

Thats a really good suggestion wes and also thank goodness it sent him here...Atleast they will find the proper help and guidance....

Make sure when you burn AID you burn it at slow speed (around 4x) and that you burn it to a DVD-R. It'll save you some headaches. I also recomend using dvddecrypter to burn it

Thats cool as it gets aint it, he said my dash sent me here.
First of all...thanks wes & ccross028 for the help...i've downloaded it but didn't get to installing yet...because in the meantime i setup tversity with my xbox360. Which works quite fine except for the not being able to forward ofcourse!!!
To user1: EVOX does ring a bell somewhere...might be it indeed. But in the menu i only got:

Maybe in settings i can check it out...what do you suggest then? A friend of mine would like to "loan" (read: never gonna see it back again) the xbox so it would be nice if i got it working again (without too much of a hassle, so i'd like to check ur suggestions first if u have any).

If the xbox is running then you can just put in Auto installer deluxe and use it to add thae dash you want it it will give you back all your features.
Or worst case you can uninstall reinstall the softmod and your good to go.
You can check for a dule boot by holding the eject button to turn it on and see what dash it gives you that way, and look for a file manager optin.
