Hello all,
I am new to the XBOX modding sceine, but I am no stranger to modding in general. I have an XBOX with dashboard v1.00.5960.01. I am trying to install SID 5.0 using a non-"Platinum Hits" version of Mech Assault. My question is.
1. Does it matter that I have dash version v1.00.5960.01 insted of the recommended vv1.00.5960.00?
2. When I load the "run linux" gamesave, the level listed is "Planet Earth" and not "Going Down Hard" as it should be.
Although the SID v5.0 still loads up, I have yet do do anything with it for fear of what might happen. Is this anything to worry about?

It is "X08-82264".
This is a USA release by the way.

MS02301L L1 01 804 and MS02301L L0 02 802 are printed on the underside of the disk in the center ring.

I just backed up my eeprom and MS Dash and both of those seemed to work ok. Now I just have to know if installing the softmod will kill my XBOX.

I experienced the same problem. Wrong level name for the mechAssault gamesave, but the mod works fine.
I have just a question: do I need to go through the Virtual EEPROM Patching process?
I installed the mod in dual boot, with EvoX dashboard and M$ original Dashboard and I used the Standard installation mode (what is Virtual C mode for???)
I tried to use a couple of backups, a NTSC game (my XBOX is PAL) and it seems to work fine.

SID 5.01 has that as the lvl for the gamesave for some reason. When i modded my friends it was like that too, even thought with SID 4 it was going down hard. So if you get that lvl with SID 5.01 its perfectly normal. _________________

Well, it's pretty cool, I must say. The only problem that I have now is how to get home brew onto the XBOXs hard drive. I can't FTP without relocating the XBOX. I tried burning the files on a data DVD twice, but both of the discs lock up the XBOX once they are detected as a data DVD. I burned them as standard data discs with the trial version of "Disc Juggler". I wonder what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for the advice, but I have yet to locate this program. I have been searching Google, this forum and it's download section and have found many references but no links.
