Hi, is there a utiltity or program to load a game from an external harddisk or network? To make it clear, XBMC for example can load media from external sources but not games. So is there like a program like boxexplorer including a network browse function, or is this impossible? Thanx in advance!
(I posted this as well in the software section, but I am not sure I'll get an answer there, the post may be deleted if answered.

Hey. Why would it be slow? Loading via a network for example would probably be quicker than from a dvd. I wouldn't come up with this question of course, if I had not just the standard xboxhardrive But let's not make this a part of the discussion, I just want to know if it's possible (and how!)
And eh boobs, anyone can physically put content on a network or harddisk, so I don't know what's ur point.

Well it wold be slow since you got to wait for the info to transfer from the pc to the xbox then when it gets thare the info wold use cpu power then it wold be trying to run the game thats more cpu use it wold take more memmory then the xbox has and more cpu speed then it has.
Just think about how long it takes to ftp a game to the hdd then add running the game and processing the button comands it just cant be done with the limits of the xbox.
As for running it from an ex hdd that wont work brcase the xbox wont reconize more then i think 4gb from an out side sorce.
You wold need to run the ex hdd from a controle port which wold make it think it was a memmory card so it gets limited.
Sorry guy just cant be done.
You can add on more hdd's but then you need to add a switch to select wich hdd you want and put a dash on both hdd,s.

its not doable because once the game is executed it takes over the system and you no longer have control over the network,
for it to work you would need a low level operating system to exist, or some kind of network control built into the bios
and loading games from the 100mbit network would actually be faster then loading them from the dvd drive,
stock xbox drives are ~6x speed MAX, which is 7.93MBs and thats only at the very end of the dvd,
you can get 12.5MBs transfer on a 100mbit network, and that speed would only be affected by the size of the files _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a
