As the title said, I switched to a larger HD, the swap seemed to go fine and there were no errors when I locked the drive(I think). I swapped it into the Xbox and now everything boots up fine but only goes to the MS dashboard. if I go to 'memory' I have 50000+ blocks available and surreal, feultra, zsnes etc are listed. Why can't I get to xbmc or unleashx?

Is your xbox softmodded or chipped? What method did you use to make the hdd? Sounds like when you built your new hdd, you used the MS dash instead of the modded one you originaly had. If you xbox is softmodded, just boot up sid from whatever game you modded with and redo your softmod and reinstall your dash. If its chipped, boot up the AID disc and use it to install a new dash. You'll probobly have to redo your settings, but all your data you had should still be there. If you installed a larger drive, you may need to enable f: and G: and format them to see all of your space. If you have any more problems or questions feel free to ask. _________________

i agree. Its an easy process.

Your right, it would have been a lot easier, I ended up using the boot disc to unlock the drive then I was able to reinstall my c drive then lock the drive back up again. Thanks for all you help, I will be enjoying my 500gb hdd now more thouroughly.
BTW: The Western Digital WB5000AAKB 500 GB is lockable...plus I got it from BestBuy for 100USD
