Hey there everybody. My friend just got a 360, so I took his original Xbox off of his hands. I looked around for a softmod that worked with 1.6, and I found Softmod Installer Deluxe. The one problem I have is getting the files from my PC to my Xbox. I do not have an Action Replay, or an already modded Xbox. I do have a USB memory stick. Can I get a cable like this or this, and use it to connect my USB memory stick to my Xbox? Also, I have heard that even if I do, the Xbox will format my memory stick, and erase all the files. Is this true?

Is there ANY way I can transfer the files without an Action Replay? Thanks in advance.

I believe that you would need both of those cables if you were going to do it that way. And if you use a memory stick you are going to need to plug it into your xbox first so that the xbox will format it. Then you have to use the action replay program anyway which comes with AID 4. Basically if you can get your hands on an Action Replay. Its going to make your life easier. I think i foudn one at game stop for like 21 bucks. Hope that helps.
