I posted the topic about an error 13 message. Now I'm getting error 16 message. I've got almost every program out and all files I can find that I might possibly need. I cannot connect to my xbox via FTP. How do I reflash my mod chip so I can re-install the evox dash back on and get back to some Halo 2.[/code]

So are you saying you have a chip? Isn't it flashed with a bios? I thought X1/X2 chips have a back-up bios for flashing. _________________

I do have a chip, but I didn't install the chip. If it does have backup bios I don't know where they are. I've got a list of em from AID. I don't know how the process works for flashing your xbox. I've read hundreds of forums, but I never got a clear tut, or could find the files, like config.xml, unleashx.xbe, evoxdash.xbe, evox.ini, default.xbe. I read this is all I needed then to make an ISO, then burn to disc and put in drive. If it is this simple great! But google search engine didn't help me find any of the files. If there's other ways, easier or harder, as long as it's a detailed tut, I can follow. Since I'm xboxcomp illiterate I would benifite from a step by step walkthrough or a visual aid or something. Any help is better than none. Thanks again to everyone who replies, your help is greatly appreciated.

Your chip doesn't have a bios on it? It should give you a flash bios screen if it is a new chip, or if it doesn't have that it should have a bios on it. _________________

It was already installed. But while I was FTP files to my box the prog. had a virus and started deleting my c: partition. After it happened I got an error 13 and could load discs. I unplugged it not knowing any better and now I get an error 16. I'm trying to fix it but FTP doesn't show any connection to it, and it will no longer load anything.
So I'm trying to install dash back with AID but since it won't load games untill I Flash the bios. Someone metioned an external flasher... No idea what that is.
I don't have a friend with a modded xbox to swap hdd, to get past the time thing. I don't really know what else to do from here. If someone know's how to fix it in the Richmond VA area let me know.

Ok well if your chip has a bios on it, it will skip the clock glitch so i dont think you even have your chip on. Anyways you can get the dash back by following this tut:http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html _________________

Latest Updat and I still need help. I tried the hotswap technique and now when I power on my xbox it stays at the x logo with xevuter2 underneath. I've tried using the AID disc to reboot, but it's not loading it. Any idea why it is stuck on this screen and what I can do about it?

Well if it says Xecuter 2 under the xbox symbol, then your chip has a bios on it so now its just hanging. I don't know how to fix hanging problems though. _________________

should I google "hanging problem" or there a technical term used to describe it. Better yet, do you know anyone who would know how to fix it, or where I should look for help?

The tut I was following sucked. It was hard to follow for a noob like my self. I finally got it working, and when in xboxhd there were 8 options. Well the tut had, "Install exploit 1" and "install exploit 2" I didn't know I was only supposed to pick one. One was refering to option 1 building a hard drive from scratch and the other was referring to option 2, rebuilding the c drive. I only needed files to be put back to the c partition, BUT the tut didn't say only to use which applied to you. Being the noob I was and how happy I was to finally see some progress, I followed both exploits thinking since they were on the tut I should follow word for word. Does this mean since I did option 1 and built HD from scratch that everything else is deleted??? Like my games and emulaters???
Next question, with my mod chip switch off, nothing comes up, no logo no sound no nothing.... With the chip switched on the logo comes up like normal with xecuter 2 underneath but it freezes on that screen.
What should I do??

I wasn't talking about the tut you linked me to when I said the tut sucked.
Great news! my box is back. Unfortunately it was wiped clean, I don't have any games or emulators or anything on it. What I did was using the slayers iso, I extracted the contents of the ISO from quix. I add everything that was in it's c, e, and f, folders to the folders in xboxhd. I made the ISO with with xboxhd. Did the hotswap. Chose option 2 for rebuilding a C partition. Then I went to xbrowser and all the files I had added from slayer, I just copied them to my xbox from the disc!
Only problem I have now is getting everything back to how it was. Which shouldn't be to much of a problem now that it loads up and I can get an IP address to FTP everything over. Thanks for everyones help.

All that excitement down the drain. After trying to install different apps I didn't have any luck. Everytime I removed the cd my xbox would constantly reset untill I put the disc back in. AFter trial and error I eventually landed on plain error. ERRROR 21 to be exact. The cd loaded once after the error 21 message. I tried installing some other things and reinstalling the MsDash. After removing the AID 4 cd it still shows error 21. And I can't load any disc anymore. So I'm back to square one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He doesn't have a stock HDD, the person who modded it took it from him. Anyway, probably I'd try rebuilding the HDD, and then making sure you have the dash and all, then maybe let your xbox cool down, and try to launch it again, if it works with installing ONLY a dash, then I'd try installing AID4 to the HDD, then never use the CD/DVD again.
