I asked a question on xbox-scene and was IMEDIATELY flamed, told to read the newbie guide and use the search function. I replied that I HAD read the newbie guide and it mentioned nothing about my question and I searched (my question was about cpu and mb temps) and all the search did was bring back info on PC cpu and mb temps (that was when It didnt give me errors). I replied by telling them that for being a site supposedly based on information and help, they seem to flame 99% of all questions asked. I said I was taking my question to xbox-hq like many others have done. I checked my post later and they had completely removed xbox-hq and replaced it with ***XS Filter - link to torrent and warez site**
Just kinda found this humerous. I see nothing worez related about this site and laugh at thier attempts to stay on top by misinforming people about the other sites that they are obviously threatened by [/b]

Yup.... thats why I'm here and not on xbox-scene. I hate people with an elitest mentality that are quick to forget what it was like when they were new. What was your question btw? _________________

I was just curious as to what "normal" temps were for CPU and MB. Mine range about 48c for the cpu and 42c for the MB when the system is idle. It was purely a curiousity question to help me decide wether or not to do a fan mod on my box.

Those temps sound about right.
Dangerous temps are up around the 70 - 80c mark for most cpu's, so I wouldn't worry about hitting that! Your MB temp is always a few degrees below that of the CPU, for obvious reasons.
Your Xbox seems to be fine temp wise, I wouldn't worry.

Excerpt taken directly from reply by Xombe on xbox-scene...
"See where it says "Tutorials"? In inch-tall, bold text?
Under which is "General Hardware FAQ".
You have a general hardware question. That link has your answer.
In the time you took to write your mistaken post you could have doubled checked and found your answer."
They'll keep alot of members that way They locked my topic after that reply.

Whats funny si, thier so called NewB tut is huge. It takes forever to navigate and find what you need. Thats why so many people just post what they want to know. It takes less time to make a post and wait for replies than it does to search thru thier "book" and find a solution. The tool that yelled at me even has this in his sig http://home.att.ne.jp/alpha/xombe/noobs.jpg telling all people that frequent the newbie chat to use it whenpointing out pinned topics.

I hated XS because you couldn't post links to files and such. Here the people are so friendy and you can help people alot more than you can on that site. I got on there before i came here and i got banned 2 times in a week, once for posting a tut for softmodding, and once for asking here you get ROMS.
Lame site if you ask me _________________

I'm surprised I havent been banned yet. This is the 2nd time I've fought with one of the higher up's there. First time was because thier lame site posted my thread like 5 times. It was an error on thier half and they said I did it.

Well, you've made the right choice to come here. We treat everyone as equals, because we all realise, we were new to this too at one point.
The admins and mods over there think they've come from a higher plain.
We like to think of HQ as more of a giant family, thats why everyone will try and go out of their way to help.
