Its entirely up to you which type of mod you go for. Some people here will say defo go for chip, while others will tell you softmodding is the way to go. At the end of the day, its your box and your decision. Just weigh it up and see which option suits you better.
As for XboxLive, well it depends. Do you have a Live account already?
yeah i have a live account have had it for a while well basicaly i just want to know what the most popular modchip and why cause i think im goin to chip this thing

Personally (and I'm sure others will agree), I think the best chip around at the mo is the Xecuter 3 CE. Ok, its slightly more expensive than some other chips, but with modchips, as with all things in life, you get what you pay for.

I had softmods for a while, which worked good, but its harder to do many things that is easy on mod chip. Mod chip makes it really easy to put in a new HDD, where softmod new drives can be a pain. Its really up to u _________________

i would say xecuter 3 CE with an Xapt3r, super easy install and flashing the new bios... also the hdd is really easy to upgrade, but if you want live you can't upgrade your hdd becuase they have your old hdd serial #, unless you have 2, one for stock and using on live, and then flip the switch boot up and its fully modded, and a big one for movies and games... also with the X3 CE you can add a screen later if you want real easy, tonz off extra's for it... also there site helps alot here it is, and the guides are on the right side of the page http://www.team-xecuter.com/ heres the installation tut http://teamxecuter.entryhost.com/x3ce.pdf just something to read, and learn... _________________ (2) XBOX v1.4:

I would also say X3 CE but with no xapt3r because solderless sucks in the long run if you can solder there maybe some one close to you that will do it. I can do it for you and I charge $35 for a chip install no matter the version. That also includes flashing the bios with the newest version available for what ever chip you decide to get.

i agree with burner, its not so much if it messes up on you, its just that its a more sturdy install wen u solder it straight to the LPC Holes, instead of using a screw and some wires that stick in holes. Soldered is def better but as FC said, its up to you what route you take.
As for what you should do with the xbox, id chip it, do as burner said, send it to someone if you cant solder. The X3 is by far he superior chip on the market as of now, pricey yes, but the features almost limitless for it being an xbox.

Definatly good advice. One thing I figured out fast when I learned to solder back in highschool is that it aint as easy as it looks. An Xbox may not be $300 anymore but i still wouldn't mess around with it unless you know what your doing (I do ) and you have steady hands (I don't ).
Just noticed you xboxlive name hyptnotic Friggin Hilarious _________________
