Have Xenium installed and I think the TSOP is flashed but after that, I have had NO luck getting the proper files. Either my downloads are bad files with every bittorrent or I can't find the iso or bin or whatever.
Can someone just send me somewhere that I can directly download everything I need to get my Xenium flashed and EvolutionX or whatever else application I need, on my XBOX so I can play backups and burn games. 1. Flash xenium with OS V2.1 either HDD or CD version from here http://www.teamxodus.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=15 (there's a manual for this on their website).
2. You need to flash a bios onto the chip. There are loads in the VIP downloads so it's worth becoming a member. If not have fun finding one try IRC but it's not that easy.
3. Download the xbox-hq autoinstaller. Again you need to be a VIP but this app is great! It will format your hard drive and install EVERYTHING you need.
If you do all these your xbox will be up and ready to do whatever you want. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

I have in fact, become a VIP member. I was so anxious that I did it TWICE!! LOL I paid them 20.

The HDD install will look for a file called recovery.bin on your E: drive. So you need to FTP this file over. I find this easier but if you haven't got FTP set up just use the CD install. Burn it to disc and but it in the xbox drive. All you need to do on the xbox is go to recovery mode on the xenium menu. It will flash itself and you're done. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

Actually, we have both of those OS files too. However, I have heard a lot of chatter with people who have 1.6 machines not being able to upgrade to the new OS.
What color is your screen right now? Are you using the Xenium blue, or the Xenium Ice. I am thinking since you mentioned the TSOP flash you have the Ice with the 2.0 OS.
Let me know, and I'll walk you through the flash. Then if you still want to upgrade the OS on the modchip you can very well do that.

And the screen has the red circles. When you mentioned FTP. What is involved with that? Connecting the broadband cable from the back of the XBOX to the PC? Maybe I should just do the CD thing. After which. Is THAT when I install the dash? What do I need to do to do that?

Lets get your chip flashed with a bios, then we'll take care of the dash.
First, if you have a xbox that ISNT a 1.6 version, then download our Xecuter2 4983.67 bios.
You will need to unzip or unrar the file.
Next, open Nero. Insert a blank DVD R into your DVD Burner. Click New DVD ISO.
Now you will see the screen is broken down into a few sections, somewhat like interent explorer. Navigate to where you have your bios.bin file stored and drag it into the compilation window. Also, you will want to drag in dummy file. Something that is at least 50 mb. I just use about 12 MP3's. This will give the xbox a better shot at finding the bios.bin file.
Click the burn icon (little match stick icon) in nero like you are going to burn the DVD. The burn compliation dialog pops up here we will make a few changes that will ensure the xbox reads the DVD. First on the "ISO" tab there is a drop down box beside "Format" change this to "Mode1". Secondly on that same tab uncheck "Joliet". Now on the "Burn" tab change "Write Method" to "Disc-At-Once/96" and change the write speed to 4X. It is good practice to burn your disks at a slower speed.
Once it's completed, just fire up you xbox. When you get to the red Xenium screen put in your bios dvd that you just burned.
Select "Launch Items", select, "Add New Item", select FLASH.
Then, you should get a little list of drives. C/, D/, E/, F/, G, etc...
If you don't get D..then the xbox isn't reading the disk. I suggest backing out and trying again. One time, I even had to eject the disk and at the "add new item" screen reinsert the disk.
If you see D/ select it. You will then see a list of all the files on the disk. Scroll to the bios.bin file and press A to select it.
You will then be prompted to name the flash...I would just name it Evox Dash. Then you will be asked to select the color you want the Xenium Ice LED to be when it loads this bios.
You will be notified when flash is complete and now you should see it in the list right under Retail Kernel. You may want to rename retail kernel to MS Dash if you can. It just makes it easier for newer people who may hop on your xbox to launch Evox or Ms Dash.
That is why I name my hacked bios EvoX dash. It's just easier for some people.
Let me know when your modchip is flashed. If you still can't flash this way, then I suggest you get a crossover cable so you can FTP the bios.bin file to your xbox HD.

But the file that was downloaded only has the dummy bin file and the other one has noani at the end. is that OK for that bios file? If so, I'm putting them all on the DVD and try what you said.
Assume that this goes well and that I need a dash. Why do I need one and how do I get it there?

Right so from the xenium menu you can now boot that new bios yes? You should select bank 1 unless you've changed the name. So when you boot that it should come up with the normal microsoft menu but on the X logo it shows XECUTER2 at the bottom of the screen rather than microsoft. If that works then download the xbox-hq auto installer here http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/download-file-771.html&title=Xbox-Hq%20EvoX%20Auto-Installer%20v1.2%20Final%20Beta. Once you have that burn the iso image to CD using nero. For this you need to tell nero to actually burn an image. DO NOT just put this file on a CD or it will not work. Now all you need to do is put the CD in you xbox drive and it will load the autoinstaller. I can't remeber its menu structure but there is a manual for it in the download. I think it's something like "Rebuild Stock Harddrive" if you have your original drive or "Rebuild Large Harddrive" if it has been enlarged. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

Correct, your best bet is to get the Xbox-HQ 1.3 Autoinstaller. Use the link that 'hacker' gave you.
Honestly man, this is stuff you should have already had lined up prior to installing your chip. You really should spend some time in the tutorial section and soak up some basic modding knowledge. Kudos to you for getting the chip on correctly and everything, but you seem pretty clueless how a mod works. We don't mind helping noobs out at all, after all we all started there!!! If this was any other forum you would have been flamed for sure...Ha. So with that said, read some tutorials then if you dont understand why or how the tutorial is telling you to install an application or burn a cd, then make a more specific post other than, what's next.
Furthermore, we for us to keep answering your questions please make a signature and let us know your set up. We can better assist you if we know exactly what we are dealing with. Look at my signature, copy it and paste it for yours but then just change the info to match your set up.
After you have it burned to a disk, all you do is turn on your xbox, place the disk in the tray, and then boot up your hacked bios.
Then you can start adding dashboards, applications, and making sure your HD is locked.
If you have the stock HD then it's already locked.

Gentlemen, I agree. I must apologize for my ignorance with this industry and all of it's intricacies. I didn't mean to abuse your hospitality. I must admit however, I have never participated in a formum before so, I was even clueless to it's procedures.
I was simply blown away by how prompt and friendly the help was at this site that I was telling my wife about how easy you guys were making it for me. After days of scouring the internet and trying to decypher tutorials on every site imaginable, not to mention the failed methods of trying the whole mirc and flashXP thing...I was at the end of my rope.
So, you can imagine my excitement with the help that I was receiving and how successful I was being.
I now have the bios done properly. I can play both types of games. I'm now off to try and upgrade the HD and start burning games hopefully.
Once again, I'm really very sorry that you have been inconvenienced or that I failed to follow the forum manners that is commonly practiced.
I simply couldn't remain clear as I followed the tutorials.

No worries, possibly I came off a little strong..wasn't my intention. Just trying to let you know that other forums are so into noob bashing it isn't even funny.
We just try to eliminate, as much as we can, the posts that say things like, "just got my chip in the mail, now what". You weren't infringing on anything bud, that is why we are here...to answer your questions.
But, one thing you definitely want to do is configure a signature with your setup. This way, when you do ask a question, someone can just check your setup and start to help you troubleshoot. Even if you were to just type it in your post, that isn't good because then if the topic gets a lot of responses the other responders have to go through all of the posts and try to find what chip you have, what version xbox, what bios you are using..yada yada yada. If it's in your sig, then we can just look at the bottom of the most recent post.
Installing your new HD is easy. Here is what you want to do before you install your HD.
If you haven't already, get your autoinstaller ready and burned to a disk that your xbox reads. Install your HD and then boot the machine up. Insert the disk and then from your Xenium Menu select the hacked bios. The first thing you will do is format large HD. Then prepare large HD. Next just install the dashboards, (Evolution X 3935 on C drive...then MS Dash) . Now comes the install of all of your applications on F drive. Next,use the lock HD function and lock your new HD. You can also install DVD Region Free. I do that last because it makes you reboot your xbox.
We have a document here that will show you exactly all the steps to take when using the autoinstaller. The manual is available in our tutorial section I would think. You can also look through the news archive and I know that in September there was a news story on it.
I'll find the link and post it if you can't find it. Just let us know. If you get stuck at some point and can't find any specific topics in the forum or any tutorials don't hesitate to post a question. You also have the VIP ticket feature at your disposal since you are a VIP member. Have you heard of that yet??
You can submit a ticket about a specific issue you are having and you will get one on one help. When you submit a ticket, all of the moderators/admins get an immediate email. So sometimes you get faster response with the VIP ticket.
