E:\Games F:\Games and G:\Games
It doesn't matter where you install the game (either of these 3 folders. My backup games are all on F:\Games as thats the largest) The dashboard will pick it up and run without any probs, so there's no need to go resizing partitions.
If for any reason there isn't a Games directory on F:\ simply make one. Pop over your games, and bingo!

Thanks for the info.
As i mentioned at the beginning of this thread, i softmodded about a year ago.
I think i used to be able to access all the drives C, D, E ect through my xbox using Evox dash( without the use of a PC). But i can't remember how i did it.
i remember to start with, when the softmod for 007 was on the HDD
it would come up with a different screen to what i have now. i removed the 007 software to stop the family messing with it.
but i can't get back to that screen now i have put it back on........
It is probably there but i can't remember what i am looking for.
This was several months ago, long before i considered changing the HDD.
Any Ideas?
thanks

Do you mean creating the folders without having to FTP?
If you do, you can use XBMC.
Go into it, select My Files, then select the F:\ Drive. On the root of this menu, press "white" then select Make New Folder. Simply call it Games and thats it, one games folder good to go.
If you're talking about modifying the evox.ini to pick up the F:\Games folder, it'll have to be done by FTP'ing into the box and modifying it in Notepad. Chances are, there'll be no need to do that stage as it should be already done.

If i use the chimp would i set the new HDD to slave while the chimp is installing/ cloning the HDD? Is there an option to format the new HDD as the 80GB HDD i intend to use has been used for something else?
Could i use an action replay card to put chimp into E/apps?
Thanks

Yes, the new HDD would be set to slave during the process, as they will both be connected to the same IDE bus. After the clone is complete, you then swith the new HDD to master.
Chimp literally clone's the old drive onto the new one, utilising all available space on the drive ready for you to use. It erases all data on the new drive (if there is any) before it clone's, so it effectively does a format for you. I used chimp to go from an 8Gb, to a 160Gb!
Finally, yes, you can copy the Chimp files onto your action replay and copy them over to your box if you wish to do it that way, although FTP'ing the files would be much easier. As robbieboy said, install it in either E:\Apps or F:\Apps and you'll be good to go.

When using chimp.... how long should it take to format a 160GB hard ( i am cloning from a 80gb) I only ask as i have been waiting for about 1 hour and nothing seems to be happening.
I clicked yes to format and now waiting expecting to see the HD cloning menu,, but nothing . Do i need to turn it off and reboot and try again?
Thanks DV

The entire process, to format and clone the drive will take a little while. The format is going to take a fair while to do for a 160Gb (mine took about 45 mins) and then the time it takes to do the clone will greatly depend on the size and amount of data on the drive you're cloning from.
I'd say bare with it and see how it goes. It sounds like everything is ok, just taking a little while.

you will however need to check the dash config file to make sure the path you store your games on is set in the config file games section, otherwise they wont get picked up

I tried to clone from the 80GB hard drive to a 160Gb hard drive and then unlock the 80Gb to use in another xbox.
I appears you cannot upgrade from a 80GB to a larger Hard Drive ( in my a 160GB) unless you use the original stock hard drive and then clone from this to the larger hard drive.
The same also goes for unlocking the 80Gb ( or similar) ..... you need the original Stock hard drive to unlock the 80Gb ( or similar).
Has anyone else also found this to be the case?

What happened when you attempted the clone from 80 to 160GB?

It took about 1 hour to format the HDD and then about 3 hours to clone C drive. Then it would either freeze at this point or occasionally allow you to do the " wipe hdd again" ( to access the Copy C or E Drive) which would take another hour and then freeze.
Once i thought i had completed the cloning, but it would not let me lock the HDD.
So i put the original HDD back in and completed the cloning to the 160GB in less than 1 hour.
I also found you can only Unlock a HDD from the xbox which locked it. Although that seems obvious now....
I put the 80Gb HDD in my 2nd xbox and all appeared great until i copied a game onto F drive....... but the xbox does not see it in the Evox dash board.
If i search through the F drive i can see it under F\games, so it should be there.
