you dont need to solder, just go to a comp store like bestbuy or even your local computer store and they have them that go inline with the Molex power connector thats the power connector for the hdd, and then you have to cut a little off the hdd carrier, and also you have to break or cut off the tabs that hold the old fan in place... anymore questions just ask.. _________________ (2) XBOX v1.4:

ya get a 80 mm fan. (better air flow) but you have to do some cutting around the HD case to fit it.

You've done it again. You don't need the on the end mate, just type literally the site name. In this case: http://www.xoxide.com/80mmfans.html
If you leave the on it'll just take you to the homepage of the site, and not the specific page you wanted. I've removed the non-working link and deleted a duplicate post. You don't need to post the link again mate, it works fine now it's been edited.
which fan should i choose? any suggestions? some nice selections here, any advice on what to go for? thanks

You could use a molex splitter and share the voltage from the HDD. Standard 12v job will do.
