Used Chimp on mine to upgrade to a 160Gb and had no probs with that either, no flashing of BIOS taking place.
me and my cusin just uped hes v1.6 with chimp i think i like chimp better then xboxhdm its ten times faster but cus his was a v1.6 we had to figur out how to telnet to the xbox _________________ <a href="http://www.us.playstation.com/PSN/Users/BUD_TOKER_13"><img src="http://pid.us.playstation.com/user/BUD_TOKER_13.jpg" width="235" height="149" border="0" /></a>

If he has a 1.6 then you didnt use chimp cause it dont work with 1.6 but as far as your question I have done many sizes on a softmodded Xbox without flashing the bios. I have done a 400GB 320GB 250GB 200GB and 160GB with no problems. Also with many versions of Xbox. Hope this helps and Cnimp is better. Thats my opinion but hdm is nice if you need it.

FYI, you HAVE to use F and G for bigger hdds as it will only put 127 on F and 127 on G, so if G is not formatted, you will only be using like 133 GB(rough estimate).
